The Buffalo Gay Men's Chorus (BGMC) has been the Voice of Pride for the Western New York LGBTQIA2S+ community for almost 25 years and is now joined by the Nickel City Treble Makers (NCTM), a group for sopranos and altos to complement the existing tenor-bass chorus.
Our longevity is due to the support of individual donors throughout the WNY community.
In the past year alone, the groups have given four major concert series, performed at Shakespeare in Delaware Park, the Best of Buffalo Spree Event, at the Elmwood Village ArtFest, during Dining Out with Friends, for residents at Weinberg Center, at Shea’s Winter Wonderland, at a vigil for Sam Nordquist, at Pride Nights for the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bisons, performances for Trans Day of Visibility, and at Lockport Pride, Buffalo Pride, Hamburg Pride, Batavia Pride, Niagara Falls (Rainbow City) Pride, Pride in the Spotlight in West Seneca, the Intersect: A Pride Arts Festival, and volunteered at PBS.
We intend to continue doing our good, important work with the help of our community and have set a goal of raising $7,160 through Give 716 to help make our next season even more impactful. This support will be used to purchase music for the NCTMs, with a focus on selecting pieces from queer artists, in addition to renting more accessible venues to reach a broader audience and allowing us to attend and support other events from other LGBTQIA2S+ groups.
Your support allows us to support LGBTQIA2S+ rights across WNY!
Further information on our upcoming season, our history, other opportunities to donate, volunteer, or sing are available on our website theBGMC.org .
We hope you will consider donating to the BGMC/NCTM and we thank you for your support!
