The Warming House is believed to be the oldest student-run soup kitchen in the country. Begun in 1974 as a drop-in community center for elderly adults, the Warming House has grown to offer one meal a day, year round. In 2025, the Warming House anticipates serving 8,500-9,000 meals.
Not only does the Warming House offer support to the Olean community struggling with food insecurity, but also offers St. Bonaventure students the opportunity to run a small not-for-profit and interact with a wide variety of people.
