When you are reeling from your child’s medical issue — or even just trying to keep up with basic medical care — you often find yourself facing several “what matters most” moments.

A family always wants the best care for their child — and that care may be far from their home. They want to be at their child’s side — and they also need to be well-rested and strong enough to make tough medical decisions. It’s so overwhelming.

We believe when families are together, they cope better, and no family should have to deal with their child’s medical crisis alone.

Since 1983, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western New York (RMHC of WNY) has been keeping families together and giving them a place to rest and heal. 

We believe that “home” is more than four walls and a roof over your head. The Buffalo Ronald McDonald House is a safe haven that provides all the comforts of home, plus the compassion and hospitality of the staff, volunteers, and other families. For 40 years, the Buffalo Ronald McDonald House has served more than 21,411 families from across the United States and internationally, providing a comfortable “home away from home” so families can focus on their children's health.

Our Hospital Programs bring our Ronald McDonald House Charities signature hospitality to John R. Oishei Children's Hospital. Our Ronald McDonald Family Room (RMFR) enables families to experience restorative time without stepping too far away from their child’s bedside. Since opening in late 2017, our Ronald McDonald Family Room serves over 1,000 visits monthly, and our Ronald McDonald Hospitality Cart makes more than 360 bedside visits weekly.

RMHC of WNY is a proud Chapter of the national and international network of Ronald McDonald House Charities. RMHC of WNY is responsible for its own fundraising and program development and is 100% funded by generous donations from the local Western New York Community.
